MiLB: Montgomery Forces Game Five with a 10-7 Victory Against Jackson

The North Division Championship Series will go to a game five on Sunday following the Montgomery Biscuits victory against the Jackson Generals on Saturday Night. After losing Friday Nights game in Montgomery, it lit a fire underneath the Biscuits who were in the hot seat Saturday Night. Had the game gone differently, the Jackson Generals would be celebrating heading to their second Southern League Championship in three years. Instead, Sunday will mark a game five at Montgomery giving the Biscuits a chance to make Southern League history.

The night began Nathan Lukes and Thomas Milone scoring on a triple by Lucius Fox in the second inning put the Biscuits up 2-0 early. Domingo Leyba hit a sacrifice fly in the third to score Dom Miroglio knocking the Generals deficit down to just one run.

The motto for the Biscuits was to score early and score often as they scored a total of four runs in the third inning, two more runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, and one in the ninth putting the Montgomery Biscuits in the cat-bird seat resulting in a series-tying game four victory.

Game five will take place at 5:05 p.m. ET at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama. Winner takes all and will face the Biloxi Shuckers in the 2018 Southern League Championship Series.

It wasn't a victory for Chad Reed in Detroit but it was a podium finish for the driver from Kurri Kurri, Australia. His first podium since Glendale in 2017 and the 132nd career podium finish. The finish is just another page in the story for Reed and 2019 has been one hell of a story so far. Reed has already earned more top 10 finishes this season then he did last season. The first top-five finish Reed earned this year already was more than he netted in 2018. Before San Diego, Reed had not finished inside the top five since Toronto in 2017. Will Christien denoted to Reed during the post-race interview that he had not been a fan of the new "Triple Crown" format but will take a third place finish. "Honestly just starts and finally riding to your ability," Reed told NBCSN. "It's been a long time. For the guy who has stood up here more than anyone in the sport, you know I take it on personally as just feeling less about myself for not getting up here and

The organization finished 66-70, fourth in the South Division. The BayBears were second in runs scored per game and runs batted in during the 2018 season but the rest of the batting statistics were pretty low.
