The Southern League North Division Championship Series field has been set. The Montgomery Biscuits will face the Jackson Generals for the North Division Championship beginning on September 5th in Jackson, Tennessee.
Montgomery clinched their spot in the playoffs Tuesday night with a victory against the Tennesse Smokies. Despite clinching their spot in the playoffs, the entirety of the SLNDS has not been decided yet.
If the Jackson Generals win the second-half, meaning they sweep the season, they will host games four and five. If the Montgomery Biscuits win the second-half, four and five will be in Montgomery. Games one and two will be in Jackson being as the Generals won the first-half and Montgomery will for sure host game three.
It is the fourth consecutive season that the Montgomery Biscuits have competed in the SL Playoffs. Last season, Montgomery dropped the SLNDCS to the Chattanooga Lookouts after five games (The NDCS became the co-championship series after Hurricane Irma forced the postponement of the SLCS).
The Montgomery Biscuits are looking to win their first Southern League Championship since 2007 while the Jackson Generals are looking to defend their 2016 title. Montgomery has never won the North Division championship, they moved from the South in 2014 when Biloxi (Huntsville Stars) moved to the South Division.
