WWE: 2018 SummerSlam Results: New Champions Crowned

The WWE held their annual SummerSlam on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Here were the results from Sunday Night's PPV event.

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler (c) - Intercontinental Championship

The match was rather up and down with Ziggler exiting the ring multiple times during the match. The time Ziggler was in the match, the two battled like it was their last match. Dean Ambrose was able to keep it rather even as both Ambrose and Drew McIntyre went face to face a few times during the match.

In the end, Seth Rollins looked to be busted up from what appeared to be a cut around his eyebrow. During the entire match, both superstars exchanged pinfalls with a maximum of two being counted. Meanwhile, Ambrose hit a Dirty-Deeds on Drew who was looking to get involved.

Seth hit a superkick on Ziggler and then sealed the deal with a Curbstomp and pinned Ziggler 1-2-3 to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Winner and NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion - Seth Rollins

The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The New Day - Smackdown Tag-Team Championship

Surprisingly a very even match between these two that we would've figured would have been done in less than 10 minutes. The match began with Xavier Woods and Big E brawling with both of the Bludgeon Brothers.

Throughout the entire match, both teams delivered offensive and defensive moves against each other which proved to be truly frustrating to The Bludgeon Brothers.

In the end, Xavier Woods attempted to hit an elbow drop on Harper but Rowan would pop out of nowhere hitting Woods with a mallet knocking him off the top turnbuckle. That would cause the referee to call the match and disqualify both Rowan and Harper but it wouldn't matter.

Harper would begin nailing Big E with the mallet to the ribs and eventually leave the ring with the tag titles.

Winner and STILL Smackdown Tag-Team Champions - The Bludgeon Brothers

Kevin Owens vs. Braun Strowman

This match turned into one of the most disappointing of the PPV. Owens barely got any chance at any offense and that resulted in Strowman just barreling over and football tackling Owens a few times. Braun then rolled Owens back into the ring and hit a rolling powerbomb on Owens.

1-2-3 and the squash match is over.

Winner and STILL MR. MONEY IN THE BANK - Braun Strowman

Carmella (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair - Smackdown Women's Championship

All three women were battling hard in this match as it was about ten times better than we thought. Carmella, Lynch, and Charlotte Flair were all three still in contention in the end and Lynch was within inches of winning the title.

Lynch had Carmella in an armbar but when Flair came blasting back in the ring she hit Lynch with Natural Selection and she'd roll Lynch up and she'd be down for the count as Flair earned another title victory.

Winner and NEW Smackdown Women's Champion - Charlotte Flair

After the match, Lynch and Flair would embrace in multiple hugs before Lynch would snap on Flair. Lynch would throw Flair around the ring leaving the Smackdown Women's Champion crying instead of celebrating.

AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe - WWE Championship

The match started with a TNA chant. That about sums up this match entirely.

Styles and Joe both brawled very hard throughout the entire match. Both notably starting to wear, Joe slammed Styles into the ring steps and proceeded to get on top of the table and tell Style's wife he'd be her daddy.

Styles snapped and jumped right onto Joe sending him through the ringside wall. Styles would continue the beat down on Joe with a chair ultimately resulting in a disqualification. Styles would continue the attack until WWE officials broke it up. Styles left the arena with his wife and daughter and Joe would be in pursuit as we'd go to commercial break.

This feud is far from over.

Winner by DQ - Samoa Joe but STILL WWE Champion AJ Styles

Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz

A good match all together with just a terrible and well normal Miz type ending.

Bryan and Miz took turns seeing who could do Daniel Bryan moves the best. As Bryan seemed to have the upper hand, Miz used some sort of bottle to hit Bryan and seemingly knocking him out. The referee didn't see any of the illegal actions and Miz pinned Bryan 1-2-3 to win the match.

This war is far from over.

Winner - The Miz

"Demon" Finn Balor vs. Constable Corbin

The second squash match of the night that should've been replaced by The B-Team/Revival and the Cruiserweight championship match. The only good thing that came out of this match was the fact that "Demon" made his first appearance in WWE in over a year.

Balor hit a Coup de Grace on Corbin and pinned Corbin - 1-2-3.

Winner - "Demon" Finn Balor

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Jeff Hardy - United States Championship

This match was highlighted by what seemed to be a failed Swanton bomb on the hardest part of the ring. Nakamura was in no-mans land as Hardy went for his finisher. He rolled out but Hardy still went for the Swanton Bomb and as noted above hit the hardest part of the ring.

A Kinshasa on Hardy ended and a three count.

Winner and STILL WWE United States Champion  - Shinsuke Nakamura

Oh look, Randy Orton came out after the match. After Shinsuke had already left. Everyone thought that Orton would attack Hardy but as he was just about to enter the ring, he turned around and went to the back.

Weird.

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Ronda Rousey - RAW Women's Championship

We start out with Natalya making her return to the ring for the first time since her father passed away. She was wearing an original Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart jacket. It appears that Natalya will be in the corner of her friend Rousey.

Rousey absolutely dominated Bliss and I swear the arm is not supposed to do that. Bliss tapped giving the victory to Rousey as she becomes the first Women to win both UFC and WWE Women's championship.

Winner and NEW RAW Women's Champion - Ronda Rousey

Brock Lesner (c) vs. Roman Reigns - WWE Universal Championship

Braun Strowman storms down the ring to announce he will cash in on whoever takes the victory and Strowman would be the impact of this match.

Roman Reigns immediately begins beating the heck out of Brock Lesner with spears after spears and superman punch after superman punch brought the big man down but not enough for Lesner not to get a couple of suplexes in.

Knowing that Strowman would be a factor should Lesner win the match, Lesner put a complete whoopin' on Strowman throwing the briefcase all the way to Manhattan and putting Strowman on the ground.

Lesner took his eye off of Reigns for just a second which was enough for Reigns to hit him with a spear and call it a night as Reigns pins Lesner 1-2-3.

Winner and NEW WWE Universal Champion - Roman Reigns

Supercross: Chad Reed Tallies First Podium Finish Since 2017

It wasn't a victory for Chad Reed in Detroit but it was a podium finish for the driver from Kurri Kurri, Australia. His first podium since Glendale in 2017 and the 132nd career podium finish. The finish is just another page in the story for Reed and 2019 has been one hell of a story so far. Reed has already earned more top 10 finishes this season then he did last season. The first top-five finish Reed earned this year already was more than he netted in 2018. Before San Diego, Reed had not finished inside the top five since Toronto in 2017. Will Christien denoted to Reed during the post-race interview that he had not been a fan of the new "Triple Crown" format but will take a third place finish. "Honestly just starts and finally riding to your ability," Reed told NBCSN. "It's been a long time. For the guy who has stood up here more than anyone in the sport, you know I take it on personally as just feeling less about myself for not getting up here and

MiLB: Mobile BayBears Look for Walk-Off in Final Season in Mobile

On Thursday (April 4th), the Mobile BayBears kick off their final season in Mobile, Alabama. The team will relocate to Madison, Alabama after this season and the BayBears are looking to finish in walk-off style. The BayBears have an opportunity in 2019 to tie the Montgomery Biscuits with four Southern League titles. The organization is currently fourth on the all-time SLCS victories. One last season at Hank Aaron Stadium, is this the year they walk-off with their fifth Southern League championship? In 2018, the Mobile BayBears were hiding in the bushes during the 2018 Walk-Off Sports Report Southern League Playoff Watch but the organization was eliminated from playoff contention rather early in the campaign. The organization finished 66-70, fourth in the South Division. The BayBears were second in runs scored per game and runs batted in during the 2018 season but the rest of the batting statistics were pretty low. Things just didn't add up for the organization and in 2019 they
