MiLB: Jackson Evens up the Series with 7-3 Victory against Biloxi

On Wednesday Night, the Jackson Generals evened up the Southern League Championship Series at one game apiece with their victory against the Biloxi Shuckers. The Jackson bullpen was able to keep the scoring down to a minimal, in fact, Biloxi was only able to score in the first inning.

Corey Ray scored on a single by Keston Hiura putting Biloxi up 1-0. Troy Stokes Jr. scored after Lucas Erceg was walked making it 2-0 and then when Blake Allemand grounded a double play, Trent Grisham scored making it 3-0 but the Generals held the Shuckers to just three runs in that ending.

The Generals scoring began in the bottom of the first when Ben DeLuzio scored on a single by Marty Herum knocking one run off the three-run deficit. Another one-run inning in the bottom of the second put the game within striking distance of tying the game, just that wasn't where the Generals were going to stop.

The Jackson Generals tied up the game in the third and packed on two more runs to make the game 5-3. Two more runs in the sixth put the Generals out of reach for Biloxi as a 7-3 victory ensured that there will be a game four. The series heads to Biloxi, Mississippi for games three and four (five if necessary).

The teams get a day to travel to Biloxi as game three will take place at MGM Stadium on Friday, September 14th, 2018. Justin Donatella (7-8 this season) will take the mound for the Generals while Thomas Jankins (10-9 this season) takes the mound for the Shuckers. (Koelle,2018)
